During Your Session

WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR IN-STUDIO WHITENING APPT

Consult and Prep

Your appointment will be approximately 30-40 minutes – 10-15 minutes of prep and after care then 15-20 minutes for the actual LED whitening treatment.

Every SunnaSmile session will begin with a shades guide comparison in order to indicate the starting shade of your teeth. Your SunnaSmile specialist will guide you through the preparation of your teeth for the session including a brush-up with SunnaSmile signature Smile Prep, a multi-action “miracle” cleaning paste that removes plaque and reduces tartar build up while gently polishing your teeth. After rinsing you will be given a Vitamin E swab to apply to your gums/lips to help provide a slight barrier to any whitening gel that might come in contact with these areas during the session.

Whitening

Once the whitening tray is in place you will be given protective glasses to wear. These are purely for eye comfort, as the combination red and blue light technology that is used to activate the whitening gel is very bright.

Now it’s time to sit, relax and let the whitening begin! You will be behind the light for 15-20 minutes. Your SunnaSmile Specialist will check in to ensure you are comfortable. It is normal to experience a slight tingling sensation as the solution reacts, but you should not experience sharp pain during the treatment. If you do, your session will be stopped immediately.

Completing the Session

Your SunnaSmile Specialist will guide you through the disposal of your whitening tray including a sip, swish and spit routine to remove any residual whitening gel. Repeat the brush up and vitamin E swab – and now it’s time for the big reveal!

Using the Shade Guide again, we will determine your whitening progress. Average results per session is 6+ shades – and will continue to whiten up to 24 hours after your session. (So be sure to check your smile the next day!)
